Our primary initiative is collecting new and gently used luggage, suitcases, duffel bags, and other appropriate travel bags for girls and young women in foster care and other transitional living situations.
Too often, young people entering or moving between foster homes and other temporary living arrangements are left carrying their personal belongings in garbage bags. At Kendall’s Kloset, we believe their belongings—and more importantly, they themselves—deserve better.
When everything you own is placed in a garbage bag, it can send a painful message about the value of your possessions and your circumstances. A suitcase may seem like a simple item, but to a young lady experiencing an already difficult transition, it can represent dignity, security, care, and hope.
That is why Kendall’s Kloset is committed to making sure as many young ladies as possible have a proper bag to call their own.
